Job title: General Food Operative- Specialty Dairy Sector 

The Opportunity: Work as a team player in the making, preparation and dispatch of high quality cheese. Be part of the  team of 25 crafting  Ireland’s most recognised international specialty cheese-Cashel Blue, from their cheese-rooms, near Cashel, in Co. Tipperary.

The Details: 

Location: Cashel Farmhouse Cheesemakers, Beechmount, Fethard, Co. Tipperary E91 E828 – we are based in the countryside within 20 minutes drive of Killenaule, Fethard, Thurles and Cashel.

Main tasks of Job: 

  • Assistant to production
  • Maintaining high level of food safety and hygiene in environment and product
  • Working according to Standard Operating Procedures, and the company HACCP Plan
  • Completion of verification checks 
  • Working with a team of between 2 and 9 depending on activity 
  • Preparing orders for a wide range of national and international customers
  • Any other reasonable task as directed by Team Leader/Head Cheesemaker
  • Flexibility 

Requirements: 

  • Availability from 6.30am to 3pm 
  • Previous experience in food or pharmaceutical sector
  • Availability 1 day per weekend (morning only) 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Ability to lift up to 18kg 
  • A positive attitude
  • Availability to start in September 

Note we are open to taking on school leavers who have previous work experience in food or agriculture.
