What We're Getting Up To...

Our trip to Clonmel Applefest

On Saturday last, both Majella and I represented Cashel Farmhouse Cheesemakers at the inaugural edition of Clonmel Applefest. The idea around the festival was to celebrate the apple harvest and Clonmel’s unique sense mix of agricultural and industrial activities where people can experience local produce. A scene of colourful and abundant display of all things foods, flavours and crafts was evident and I felt that the occasion was bustling with enthusiasm so congratulations are in order to the organisers on a very successful event… image2 (7)

We showcased our range of cheeses and found the perfect opportunity to launch the 2018 stock of the very popular Shepherd’s Store (our 100% sheep’s milk hard cheese) as well as offering tastings of our Cashel, Crozier and indeed organic Blue’s, all went down a treat with young and old tasting the cheesy delights. Both I and Majella thoroughly enjoyed the experience and meeting people who visited not only from across the country, but many Europeans who tasted our cheese for the first time. It was so heart warming to share the cheese with everyone and I was so overwhelmed with the uptake that we sold out of our cheese before 3pm!!

So thank you to everyone who supported and took part at the wonderful Applefest, it was a pleasure to be in your company and I hope to see you all next year in what will be even bigger success I’m sure!
