This summer we filmed a one minute 3D visit to the farm and cheese dairy. It was a fascinating experience as methodology forces you to look at yourself and your own surrounds from a different perspective. The idea behind this short piece was as part of a series of mini clips of food producers around our region of Tipperary, all co-ordinated by our super local Food Network Tipperary Food Producers. In November the series of films were released with the first viewing across 20 national schools in the area, with VR headsets!
Bringing the farm and cheesemaking process into the classroom was so much fun and I really enjoyed our visit to Moyglass School, together with fellow local producer Kylie Magner of Magner’s Chicken farm. Kylie brought some chickens into class with her and I brought cheese. All I can say is that it must have been a success, all the cheese was wolfed and their were many happy smiles and discussions! Great to use technology to bring people one step closer to where things come from. For more information on this initiative visit The Tipperary Food Producers Virtual Tour website.

FYI
The “Virtual Tour” is also complimented by the Tipperary Food Tour Book (a great gift for kids). We recently very much enjoyed the reception dinner for the book launch at Saint John’s Hall in Dublin.
